A man goes to see the pope.
"Your Holiness. I work for KFC, and we'll offer you ten million dollars to change the reading of the Lord's Prayer from 'Give us this day our daily bread' to ' Give us this day our daily chicken.'"
The pope is aghast! "I can't just go changing God's word for money!"
The man comes back the next day: "Fifty million! Now, think of all the good the church could do with all that money, Your Holiness!"
The pope in unimpressed: "Look, I told you. I just can't do it. I'm sorry."
The guy is back a week later: "Final offer- $500 million. Take it or leave it."
The next day, the pope calls all the leaders of the church together: "Boys, I have good news, and I have bad news. The good news is we've raised $500 million dollars for Catholic Charities."
The room erupts! Everybody is so happy!
The pope waits for the room to settle down.
"And now for the bad news: We lost the Wonder Bread account."

Hollywood is running out of hit ’80s movies to reboot - This annoying tend needs to stop. I take solace in the fact that "Back To The Future" cannot be remade due to a contract with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale.

Examining how Arrival was adapted from the short story it was based on, how clever editing kept the focus on the protagonist, and why good science fiction is really a study of humanity.

For their third installment (Part 1 and Part 2 here) of the best movie shots ever, CineFix is taking the people out of it. It's time to look at some of the best character-less shots of all time and how great filmmakers squeeze a little extra out of their establishing, insert and cutaway shots.
HECK: I now pose it to you, sir. Not for my sake, but for America’s sake. As someone who has devoted your entire life to public service, in your own words, please tell my constituents, my neighbors, why they should care. Not just here in Washington, D.C., but in Washington state, and Texas, and Connecticut and points in between. Why should they care? Why do you care, sir?
BRENNAN: Because for the last 241 years, this nation and its citizens have cherished the freedom and liberty that this country was founded upon. Many, many Americans — brave Americans over the years — have lost their lives to be able to protect that freedom and liberty.
They’ve lost their lives also to protect the freedom and liberties of other countries and other peoples around the world. Our ability to choose our elected leaders as we see fit is, I believe, an inalienable right that we must protect with all of our resources and all of our authority and power.
And the fact that the Russians tried to influence that election so that the will of the American people was not going to be realized by that election, I find outrageous and something that we need to, with every last ounce of devotion to this country, resist. And to try to act to prevent further instances of that.
And so, therefore, I believe that this is something that’s critically important to every American. Certainly it’s very important to me, for my children and grandchildren, to make sure that never again will a foreign country try to influence and interfere in the foundation stone of this country, which is electing our democratic leaders.
